TO SCENT THE BASE: You'll want to use 3% fragrance by weight. Compute that number (for example, to 1 lb. of shower gel, you'd add roughly .5 oz. of fragrance). Combine the premeasured fragrance in a container made of glass, heavy-duty plastic, or some other nonreactive material with the same amount of Polysorbate 20 (a solubilizer, sold separately in this section of the website). Stir combined fragrance/solubilizer mixture into the shower gel. The solubilizer helps the shower gel and fragrance blend much better than they otherwise would, but you still may see some change in texture, color, or opacity.
