Try our interpretation of the newest stunner from English perfumery great Jo Malone, inspired by the flavor of ripe peach sorbet.
A sweet, summery blend of nectarine, peach, black currant, green apple, lemon, and green mandarin notes atop a midsection of jasmine, lily, ylang, and honey, with clean musk and earthy vetiver in the drydown. Like a drowsy June afternoon in the garden of a Cotswolds cottage -- enchanting! Flashpoint: >200º F
It's baaaack! After having been on the receiving end of a write-in campaign vigorous enough to resurrect even the show "Kate and Allie," we're convinced that you like this, you really like this. New Mown Hay is an unpretentious, down-home blend of fresh hay notes brightened by a touch of citrus and floral. Did I already say unpretentious? Good, because there's no perfumey, show-offy, big city hijinks in these here bottles. Splendid on its own or to use it to give a "coumarin" (fancy word for hay) note to blends. Flashpoint: >200º F.
This is our version of Yankee Candle's popular ""Forest Glen" scent. It's a north country blend of green herbs, pine, relaxing lavender, and sun-kissed citrus. Its heart is formed of wild mountain rose, with a base of woods and musk notes. Very nice in body care products, and, needless to say, in candles as well. Flashpoint: 170º F.
Oakmoss is a perfumery classic, prized for both its staying power and the earthy, foresty note it imparts (one Sweet Cakes customer described our Oakmoss as "all the scents of the forest rolled into one"). Add a dash of oakmoss to florals and men's blends for a touch of woodsy mystery; equal parts of oakmoss, lavender, and patchouli make an incredible men's blend. QUESTION FOR YOU: Oakmoss appears in 30% of all high-quality women's perfumes and 35% of colognes for men -- shouldn't it be part of your perfumery arsenal? Flashpoint: 145º F.
Looking for a knight in shining armor? Try this blending idea:
Lancelot
4 parts Sweet Cakes Oakmoss Fragrance
2 parts Sweet Cakes Sandalwood Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Amber Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Christmas Forest Fragrance
This as a cool, woody blend with a heart of pine and oakmoss, "an unsual blend for the Lancelot in your life."
This blend is a perfect marriage of oatmeal, milk, and honey -- mellow, soothing, with just a hint of sweetness -- the comfort food of fragrance oils.
Flashpoint: >200º F.
The success of our version of this fragrance has spawned a host of Oatmeal, Milk & Honey wannabe's -- all of them bad and none of them even remotely the same as ours. Avoid them!
The definitive modern, unisex ocean scent -- crisp, clean, and refreshing!
Our exclusive Ocean Shoreline blend begins with notes of fresh sea-salt air, leading to a floral mid-section of freesia, jasmine, and lily. Deep green notes of moss and dry, driftwood-y notes of cedarwood round out the scent, giving it long-lasting depth.
BOTTOM LINE: Perfect for all applications, and completely unisex. Use it in a votive candle or potpourri to freshen a powder room, or add it to personal-care products like soap and shower gel. Clean, fresh, and incredibly likable!
Flashpoint: >200º F
A fresh, pleasant, unisex sea scent, for those ocean-scent-seekers wanting something neither too brisk nor too floral. Try mixing this 2:1 with our Sweet Rain to approximate the scent of Primal Elements' Facets of the Sea blend. Flashpoint: >200º F.
Our Oceania Fragrance is a blending favorite here at Sweet Cakes. Love those floral fragrances but, want to try something unexpected? Add a touch of our Oceania. For the stronger florals such as our Gardenia or our Tuberose Deluxe, try 1 part Oceania to 3 parts floral. For lighter florals, use 1 part Oceania to 4 or 5 parts floral.
Looking for a more unisex blend? Try this subtle, calming blend:
Mountain Stream
4 parts Sweet Cakes Woodlands (B&BW type) Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Oceania Fragrance
In the Pacific Northwest, there are the most unbelievable virgin forests, and the fragrance of these forests is just incredible. The fresh mountain air and the green of the moss and the evergreens is punctuated here and there by pure mountain streams that cascade hundreds of feet into ribbon waterfalls and cooling misty pools. This is the feel that this blend creates. "Mountain Stream" also makes a wonderful, calming candle scent.
A fragrance filled with intrigue and Mediterranean warmth. Crisp orange and olive leaf are infused with a green grass accord and fresh ozone. A hint of lily and muguet intermingles with a base of musk, sandalwood, and oakmoss for a warm, long-lasting finish. Super-strong and long-lasting in cold-process soap! Flashpoint: >200º F
A rich, spicy pairing of orange and clove, with supporting notes of tangerine, cinnamon, and vanilla. Perfect for fall and winter -- Halloween in a bottle!
SPECIAL NOTE: Clove fragrances and essential oil are pretty much off-limits to cold-process soapmakers, as the eugenol content will cause instant seizing. This fragrance has been beaten into submission, and while it will behave itself, for best results, we recommend that cold-process soapers use low temps, not skimp on the amount of water in their batch, and add the fragrance at thin trace. Flashpoint: 160º F.
A nice blend of neroli and orange blossom, for a white-floral fragrance with a bitter orange heart to give it depth and complexity. Perfect for spring and summer. Blending Note: Three parts of our Mandarin Orange to one part of our Orange Blossom smells just like the very pricey "Mandarin" scent by Parfums Isabell.
Flashpoint: 150º F.
Our Orange Blossom fragrance is one of our top blending faves -- here are two of our favorite Orange Blossom blends:
Rose of India
5 parts Sweet Cakes Red Rose Fragrance
3 parts Sweet Cakes Jasmine Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Tuberose Deluxe Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Orange Blossom Fragrance
Afternoon Delight
5 parts Sweet Cakes World's Best Magnolia Fragrance
2 parts Sweet Cakes Orange Blossom Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Cucumber Melon (B&BW type) Fragrance
A hot afternoon, and a blend that cooled the warm summer day! This blend is unique, and a bit risky, I'll admit. But the end result is a wonderful breath of fresh air. Blending tip: For a more floral blend, add one part Sweet Cakes True Rose. It will actually "warm" the blend up a bit."
Having this fragrance duplicated has been a long and bumpy road, filled with overly sweet, not-complex-enough scent samples that were a pale and wan shadow of the beloved original. But at last, we're proud to offer you our interpretation of the original Clairol Herbal Essence, arguably the best-smelling shampoo of all time.
Herbal top notes of spearmint, galbanum, anise, chamomile, eucalytpus, rosemary, and sage frolic playfully with lemon, fir needle, and petitgrain. A floral midsection of rose, freesia, and muguet sits atop a sweet grain base of oakmoss, vanilla, amber, and musk.
Add this powerhouse to soap, shampoo, shower gel, and candles, and get ready to enter a garden of herbal delights. Flashpoint: 165º F
The nicest-smelling floral you've never heard of! Osmanthus flowers come from a Chinese evergreen, and in China, where they're used to scent tea, are known as Kwei Hwa. The fragrance is floral-fruity -- it's been described as a combination of jasmine with a suggestion of plum and raisins -- and very exotic. Evidently it spans the globe, as osmanthus scents are very popular in Europe and Australia as well. Astringent and fresh, much like freesia. Flashpoint: >200º F.
Here is an outstandingly fresh and versatile blend using our Osmanthus:
China Tea
3 parts Sweet Cakes Green Tea Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Osmanthus Fragrance
Whether you want an upscale "high-end" fragrance feel or a more natural, tie-dye and macramé feel, China Tea is a chameleon! And talk about "WOW!" in the bath and shower. We highly recommend China Tea as a scent for our shampoo and shower gel, as it comes alive under the hot water. Candlemakers might want to use only 2 parts of our Osmanthus, due to a change in the blend's balance when burning.
Our Osmanthus fragrance plays a part in this other fabulous blend:
Fruit Fantasy
4 parts Sweet Cakes Sandalwood Fragrance
3 parts Sweet Cakes Yuzu or Sweet Cakes Grapefruit Fragrance
2 parts Sweet Cakes Osmanthus Fragrance
1 part Sweet Cakes Fig or Citron et Figue Fragrance
This blend takes plain grapefruit to a whole new level -- the Fig adds "WOW!", while the Osmanthus brings a touch of floral mystery, and Sandalwood gives it a sensuous note.
Juicy, sweet, and true! Top notes of orange, grape, and pineapple lead to a middle of green apple, pink grapefruit, and sweet, fuzzy apricot flesh. Coumarin and tonka beans provide a lasting drydown. Bottom Line: Smells exactly like its name -- there truly is a fresh, juicy "nectar" note to this fragrance that makes it come alive. Why not blend Papaya Nectar with our Gin Martini fragrance to make a tropical cocktail blend. Flashpoint: 170º F.
Bath and Body Works has designated this fragrance part of their Signature Collection (translation: it's really good!), and we think you'll love our interpretation of this lusciously fruity tropical beauty.
Top notes of pineapple, mandarin orange, grapefruit, and passionfruit lead to a saucy fruity middle of raspberry, strawberry, papaya and apricot with a floral kiss of osmanthus, all atop a sweet, subtle drydown of musk, woods, vanilla, and coconut milk. Fruity, tropical, and refreshing -- our version of Passionfruit and Guava will make a great addition to your spring fragrance lineup of soaps, candles, shower gel, and shampoo!
Flashpoint: 176º F
The incomparable sweet, tart, fruity scent of peach combined with creamy, luscious, rich bottom notes -- not just peaches and cream, but peaches, cream, and magic! A perennial Sweet Cakes best-seller. NOTE: If you're looking for a straightforward, unadorned peach scent, give our SUMMER PEACH a try. Flashpoint: 170º F.
Based on the best-selling Victoria's Secret scent, this is a blend of fresh green pear softened and modernized with cucumber and melon notes. Its freshness makes it perfect for spring and summer. (If you're a pear lover, please check out our versions of PEARBERRY, and SWEET YELLOW PEAR as well.) Flashpoint: 168º F.
A surprisingly unisex blend of luscious pear and green apple combined with tangy pineapple, leading to a calming, sexy bottom complex of vanilla, white musk, and Indonesian patchouli. BOTTOM LINE: Yes, honestly -- a very likable and different pear blend that would be perfectly appropriate in any application, even those for men.
Flashpoint: 190º F.
Our terrifically popular version of a Bath & Body Works favorite. Pearberry (type) is a lush, fruity combination of pear, apple, peach, and melon blended with a floral bouquet of geranium, rose, and jasmine, all atop a musk base. Mouthwatering! (And if you just can't get enough pear, please see the listings for our versions of PEAR GLACE or SWEET YELLOW PEAR.) Flashpoint: 190º F.
Move over jasmine, hyacinth, and tuberose -- there's a new clean white floral in town! Peony Petals is delightfully fresh and true, its lush peony notes underscored with hints of green fields, wild flowers, rose petals, and lilac. Strong, strong, strong, and *not* synthetic smelling --- a delight in cold-process soap as well as M&P soap, lotions, shower gel, candles, shampoo, etc.
Flashpoint: >200º F.
A most unusual blend, which is what we've come to expect from Origins . . . technically this fragrance would fall into the "fruity-floral" family, but it's much deeper and more mysterious than most fragrances in that category. Top notes of peach and red apple lead to a fruity-floral middle of juicy peach, cyclamen, freesia, and sweet lily. Amber and musk provide a soft, dreamy, mysterious drydown. Unlike anything you've ever smelled before . . . bottom line, enormously likable -- and unisex, despite all the fruits and flowers. Flashpoint: 176º F.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We tested this fragrance in CP and M&P soap. In our opinion, this fragrance is not recommended for cold-process (made-with-lye) soap because the scent faded quite a bit during cure time (no seizing of any kind occurred, though, so if any CP soapers have their hearts set on trying this, please try it out in the smallest size). Perfect World worked beautifully in all other applications, and no discoloration was noted in M&P soap or shampoo/shower gel. This scent has been formulated to work in wax candles, as well.
This fragrance will be discontinued as a “regular inventory” item when our current inventory is exhausted after which, it will only be available as a “special order” item.
