If the color green had an aroma, it would be Aliage -- its top note is a powerful green herbal complex, leading to a middle of jasmine, thyme, pine, and a touch of spice, with smooth oakmoss, deep, woody vetiver sandalwood, musk, and myrrh in the drydown. If you're a fan of herbal fragrances, this one is not to be missed. Flashpoint: 190º F.
Note to cold-process soapers: We do not recommend this fragrance for use in cold-process soap as the high pH of the raw soap eats up all the yummy herbal notes. Our Aliage is delightful, though, in M&P soap, lotion, and especially in shampoo and shower gel.
From French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, the creator of the phenomonally popular Angel, comes Alien, an enticing floral blend like no other.
Our interpretation of Alien starts with top notes of mandarin and melon, which quickly metamorphose to a strong floral middle led by notes of jasmine, orange blossom, and rose, atop a woodsy base supplemented by vanilla and musk. The real thing is blindingly expensive at well over $100 per bottle, so give our version a try and let your extraterrestrial fragrance adventure begin. A delightfully almondy scent softened just a bit around the edges with tiny touches of citrus and floral (think Jergen's lotion) -- but primarily almond, almond, almond. Flashpoint: 154º F.

Amber is a mainstay of perfumery, adding a warm, sweet, woody note to blends. The famous perfume Ciara is a blend of amber, vanilla, patchouli, and frankincense and myrrh. Amber can certainly be used on its own, or try adding it to floral scents for greater depth and mystery. Flashpoint: >200º F.

An incredible duplication of the famous perfume of the same name by French haute couturier Thierry Mugler. When creating Angel, Mugler asked the perfumer to combine all the most wonderful scents of childhood -- roasted hazelnuts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, honey. The result is pretty astonishing, and in fact, the success and impact of Angel launched the trend in "edible" fragrances (e.g., vanilla, pear, raspberry) that shows no signs of decline. The sweet notes in this blend are offset by patchouli and a green chypre accord.
Don't be fooled by the cut-rate versions of Angel you may see offered online -- Sweet Cakes now has a cost-reduced version of Angel, but it's the only cheaper take on this fine fragrance that even comes close to capturing its magic. BOTTOM LINE: Expensive, but worth it. Flashpoint: 192º F.

Fresh top notes of pineapple, citrus, and lemon essential oil lead to a spicy-floral middle of coriander, orange blossom, rose, and natural ylang-ylang. A subtle drydown is provided by just a touch of musk and sandalwood. Bottom Line: A refreshing, light, herbal blend that bears little resemblance (fortunately) to coriander the herb, which can be quite overwhelming. Absolutely unisex, and perfect in any application where a refreshing, herbal scent is desired.
Note to CP soapers: This fragrance *is* CP soap-safe, although I'd push the fragrance level a bit as it becomes a bit faint for my liking (it won't seize the soap or cause any other problems, though). Flashpoint: >200º F.

(Quite frankly, this blend is a dead-ringer for Prescriptives' "Calyx" fragrance, one of my all-time favorites.)

Shortly after we launched our line of Apothecary Fragrances, we were indundated with requests for musk, musk, musk! Using Kiehl's Musk as our target, we're happy to offer Apothecary Musk. What makes this musk different from other ones? According to the perfumer who created this for us, most musks contain a small quantity of musk and then lots and lots of other supporting synthetics. Apothecary Musk, on the other hand, starts with a generous glug of musk, which is supplemented with touches of natural ylang and patchouli. This musk is most definitely unisex, and the essential oils keep it earthy and grounded as opposed to perfumey or sexy. Do we recommend it for use in CP soap? We do -- but with the caveat that it produces a subtle, deep musky fragrance rather than a dancing, dazzling one. Flashpoint: >200º F.

A right-on duplication of the Claire Burke scent of the same name. An irresistible blend of baked apple, orange peel, and spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. It's finished off with just a kiss of vanilla. This fragrance remains a perennial Sweet Cakes customer favorite due to its unmatched staying power in soap and candles, and at Christmas time -- fuhgeddabout it!
