Along with palm oil (below) and olive oil (available to you locally), coconut oil is one of the three basic oils necessary to make high-quality cold-process soap. Coconut oil is considered to enhance the lather of soap (although it's recommended that coconut not account for more than 30% of the total fats/oils in your recipe). Note: The 1-gallon container contains 8 pounds of coconut oil; the 25# pail contains 25 pounds of coconut oil.
